We would like to invite you to our campuses to celebrate National African American Parent Involvement Day (NAAPID). This date was first celebrated in 1995, was inspired by the Million Man March, and it was created to encourage parents to:
Promote African American (AA) parent involvement in their child’s education;
Identify and develop partnership efforts between all community stakeholders; and
Create opportunities for parents to advocate on behalf of their students and to connect with their child’s school to foster an environment of learning, joy, and a sense of belonging.
More than that, it gives us an additional opportunity to come together as one with our families. This year’s NAAPID is Monday, February 13. Additional details below:
KIPP North Star
